Amazon is making the larger Kindle DX ereader model international and available to 100 countries starting January 19 with the price of $489. Now tourist and business travelers can take their favorite ebooks with them and still get fresh local news. The smaller Kindle was available internationally back in October 2009.

The larger screen is great for highly-formatted reading content such as magazines, newspapers, textbooks, and PDF documents. The Kindle DX ebook reader can also synch to wireless mobile telephone networks in more than 100 countries so DX users can download books, magazines, or other digital reading material regardless of location.
Most of the ebooks for the Kindle are in English and the newspapers and magazines are available in the local languages. No more excuses for not reading your favorite books while on vacation!
