ASUS was quiet at CES and now announcing that they are coming out with two e-readers a 6 inch (DR-570) 9 inch (DR-950). Both will be coming out later in the year with the DR-950 coming out sooner.
DR-570 features:
- 6-inch color touch screen
- WiFi or 3G connectivity
- 122 hours battery life on a charge
- 0.03 second page turns (23 times faster than the Amazon Kindle)
- text-to-speech (Svox engine supporting 26 languages)
- supports ePub, PDF, txt, MP3, MP4, and AVI content formats
- audio/video/Flash player
- potentially online video streaming support via Amazon video on demand, 3D gaming and navigation
DR-950 featues:
- 9 inch color touch screen (rumored to use the SiPix color e-paper technology)
- 1,024 x 768 pixel resolution pushing 16-levels of gray
- text-to-screen (Svox engine supporting 26 languages)
- web browser (landscape or portrait modes)
- virtual keyboard
- accepts handwriting input
- supported formats include PDF, TXT, Audible, MP3, and unprotected ePub

ASUS is coming alive in ereaders market now. They already triggered their Color OLED screen e book reader. And coming is the touch screen e-book reader. 2010 seems to be the year for e-book readers.
